
Figurative maquette- a three-day workshop
April 14, 15 and 16, 2014.
The goal of this three-day workshop is to build from life a figurative maquette from beginning to completion. Offering an intimate environment to introduce and explore several ceramic hand-building techniques. Working hard to leave with a practical knowledge of observing and sculpting the human form one of the most fundamental materials, clay.
Sculpting the human form is one of the most ancient, traditional and wonderfully complex expressions of art. Not only can it offer a lifetime of inspiration, growth and challenge but be an invaluable tool to artist that work in the two dimensional a refreshing perspective of observation and execution the transcending across the disciplines.
Instructor - My name is Asha Robertson, I have had the great fortune to be immersed in the arts my entire life. My formal training started as a teen with a mentorship under the renowned Kathey Ventor, then to the Chicago Institute, and finally with a BFA in sculpture from the Alberta collages of art and design. Currently I am a practicing artist living in the east kootneays.
Everything is included in the 200.00 fee. Clay, model and tools. And many cups of tea,
