Bohemian Arts Studio by Cerika
biographyCérika is a self-taught international artist who dedicates her life focusing and sharing her sense of Beauty. As a kid, she was doing it with everything she could put her hands on and always loved to create something out of almost nothing, using what was in the environment and recycling, giving a second life to all kinds of materials. Many years later, she is still the same: curious, she loves to play and invents new ways of doing things. What comes out of her has never been seen anywhere before.
For her, creation is experimentation and discovery. Being in touch with the essence of Matter guides her to the next step. Since 2005, her work is about Fusion, mixing medias and techniques into one piece,… truly unique!!! She has garnered the following awards: Celebrate Arts 2008 Florence Event Center, Oregon, USA; One Merit Award for “Perceval” from the ELF Collection. Korea Jewelry Design Association 2006 International Jewelry Design Contest Five prizes for her Elf Collection; One Jury Special Prize, 3 Jury Prizes and also the Jury Selected Venture Prize. International Sculpture 2001 Symposium St-Jean-Port-Joli, Quebec, Canada; Special Popular Selection (“Coup de Coeur du Public”) for her piece “Ecce Homo” performed Live during the Symposium. artist statementCreation starts from scratch and is done in a deep calm, inner silence and total love, a state I call "Active Meditation". Always diving into the unknown, totally open, leads me to new perceptions and manifestations. I practice the Art of Beauty through a unique alchemy of disciplines fusing lapidary arts, coppersmith's trade, leatherwork, painting and sculpting. For me, Art is more than just something you do or the medium you use. It is a celebration of our fundamental uniqueness: an ode to life and aesthetics, an amazing channel leading to a privileged communication with the Universe and people. |
