artist statement

Colour became my drive into art, opening any kind of art supply box was a  confusing feeling of wanting to eat the colourful display or somehow merge with it. This sensation has remained, and most of my art , is a deep need to merge with the colours in every layer. I study colour every where, but of course nature is my greatest inspiration. 

Having had the luck to live in and travel to many different places in the world, whether it has been the Caribbean or Quebec, my soul has been held in such awe of the astounding display of beauty i have witnessed.  I fuel myself through my camera, bring home as many sensation of colour and light that my eye and the lens can capture, then the journey to explore with whatever comes closest to express the sensation I perceive from within jumps out onto canvas, paper, wood, stone or fabric , grabbing my oil colours or the sewing machine. 

I believe that we are linked into everything, and that I am just trying to find my way back , diving in between and merging with the colours when I create, looking for the Devine in everything I see and touch.
